Post on a Facebook Page that calls itself “The Ritz Hotel, London” claims that you can win a weekend for two at the Ritz Hotel by sharing a promotional video and adding the comment “Done”.
The post and Facebook Page are fraudulent and they are not associated with The Ritz Hotel in any way. The Page is not giving away Ritz Hotel prizes and there will be no winners.
The fake Facebook Page is a scam designed to accumulate large numbers of Facebook likes as quickly as possible. Once the Page has collected a large number of likes, it can then be reused to launch other types of scam. Alternatively, it might be sold on the black market to other scammers.
The genuine Ritz London Facebook Page has confirmed that the giveaway page is fake.
Like-farming scams like this one are very common.
Win a weekend in London at the Ritz Hotel for 2 people. Share this video then comment ‘Done’ to enter, one share will be chosen at complete random on October the 5th.
