Outline:
Message being shared on Facebook claims that Aldi is giving away $275 grocery coupons to “everyone” as a means of celebrating its anniversary.
Analysis:
The message is fraudulent and it is not associated with Aldi in any way. And, those who choose to participate by clicking the post will not receive an Aldi coupon or any other prize.
In fact, the message is just one in a continuing series of store coupon and voucher “anniversary” giveaway scams that have been flooding Facebook for months.
The message is a scam designed to trick you into spamming your friends with the same fake giveaway and then visiting dodgy “survey and “offer” websites where you will be asked to provide your personal information.
Aldi has been targeted a number of times before in similar Facebook scams.
These types of scam continue to be very common on Facebook.
