This email message claims to be from a computer scientist named Adekunle Elvis who works at a bank in Nigeria.
According to this email, a fraud investigator working with Interpol and the United Nations is attempting to recover and return stolen funds that have been identified as belonging to the victim.
Nigerian or “419” scams have been around for many a long year and the Internet has become very fertile territory for the criminals that run them. Because these sorts of scams are so common, the pastime known as “scam baiting” has also rapidly grown in popularity.
