“Get a Free $100 Loblaws Coupon” Facebook Scam

Outline:
Circulating Facebook post claims that you can click to get a free coupon valued at $100 from Canadian supermarket chain Loblaws.

Analysis:
The post is bogus and is not associated with Loblaws in any way. Those who participate will never receive the promised coupon.

The post is a Facebook scam designed to trick you into first spamming your friends with the same fake giveaway and then supplying your personal information on scam survey websites.

Loblaws has confirmed that the supposed coupon giveaway is invalid via a post on the company’s official Facebook Page.

Such coupon giveaway scams are very common on Facebook and have used the names of many different companies around the world.
