Circulating social media rumours claim that veteran Bollywood actor Kader Khan is dead.
The rumours are unfounded. Although Kader Kahn is in poor health and under medical care, he has not died as claimed in these rumours.
According to rumours that have been rocketing around the interwebs via social media, much loved Bollywood actor, director, and comedian, Kader Khan has died. Some of the ‘RIP’ posts link to a ‘news’ report claiming that the actor died after being admitted to hospital.
However, the rumours are false. Various credible news reports have dismissed the rumours as untrue. The Indian Express notes:
The ongoing buzz on social media about the death of veteran writer and Bollywood actor Kader Khan are mere rumours as the actor is still alive, a source close to the Khan family said. “All these tweets and posts are rumours. He is very much alive. I had a word with him late in the evening,” Fauzia Arshi, director of “Hogaya Dimaagh Ka Dahi”, the movie in which Khan was last seen acting, told IANS on late on Saturday.
The now elderly actor does have ongoing health issues and is reportedly under constant medical care at his Mumbai home. But he has not died as claimed in the circulating stories.
Unfortunately, celebrity death hoaxes are all too common and they often spread far and wide via social media shares. Some, such as this one, are merely unfounded rumours. Others are more sinister, and may try to trick fans into participating in survey scams or downloading malware.
It is wise to verify any post that claims that a celebrity has died. Usually, a search via a news portal such as Google News will quickly reveal if the death rumours are true.
